Aligning Your Values with Your Vision: The Key to a Life You Love

Have you ever felt like you’re chasing success but still feeling unfulfilled? Like you’re doing all the things but something feels off?

That feeling is often a sign that your vision—the life you’re building—isn’t fully aligned with your core values.

Your values are your internal compass, the deep truths that define what truly matters to you. When your vision aligns with your values, life flows with more ease, joy, and purpose. When they don’t? You feel disconnected, stuck, and restless—no matter how much you “achieve.”

Let’s dive into how you can align your values with your vision so that you’re not just building a successful life, but one that actually feels right.

Step 1: Identify Your Core Values

Your values are the foundation of everything. But do you know exactly what they are? Many of us go through life operating on default, never stopping to define what we truly value.

💡 Try This: Take a moment to reflect on what matters most to you. Is it freedom? Creativity? Integrity? Family? Impact? Write down your top five core values. Need some help? Download the YES Year and grab the VALUES EXERCISE!

Step 2: Get Clear on Your Vision

Your vision is your dream for your future—the big YES you’re moving toward. It includes your career, relationships, personal growth, and overall purpose.

Now, take a look at your vision and ask yourself: Does this reflect my deepest values?

💡 Try This: Write down your vision for the next five years. Then, compare it to your values. Do they align? If not, where is the disconnect?

Step 3: Close the Gap

If your vision and values don’t fully align, it’s time to make adjustments. Maybe you’re chasing a version of success that isn’t actually yours. Maybe you’ve been saying YES to things that don’t honor your true priorities.

💡 Try This: Ask yourself, What’s one small shift I can make today to bring my life more in line with my values? It could be setting better boundaries, making a career change, or simply reordering your daily priorities.

Step 4: Let Your Values Guide Your YES

Once you’re clear on your values and vision, use them as your decision-making filter. Before saying YES to anything, ask:

Does this align with my values?
Does this move me toward my vision?
Does this feel like a full-body YES?

If the answer is no, it’s okay to let it go. Your YES should come from a place of alignment, not obligation.

Step 5: Commit to Living in Alignment

True success isn’t just about what you accomplish—it’s about how it feels along the way. When your values and vision are in harmony, you move through life with more confidence, peace, and purpose.

💡 Try This: Every morning, ask yourself: How can I live in alignment with my values today? Small, intentional choices create big, lasting change.

Your Aligned YES Starts Now

Your dream life isn’t just about doing more—it’s about doing what matters most to you. When you align your values with your vision, you create a life that doesn’t just look good from the outside—it feels right from the inside.
