Embrace the NEW
New husband. New hip.
New CRM. New book.
New email and website.
New happiness. New Year!
NEW … NEW… NEW!
NEW is an exciting time (my new husband and marriage is definitely happy and exciting) but NEW can also can be super scary, daunting and overwhelming (the hip replacement - I'm just plain overwhelmed and anxious about the whole surgery and recovery starting Monday!). And if you are a business owner, I'm sure you can imagine the new CRM - after almost 10 years with the same company and moving all my campaign sequences and contacts. And then changing to my new last name, new brand etc is proving to be quite a project (and worth it!)
BUT.... it's a NEW year. 2024 is promising to be filled with new travel and exploration, new events, a new digital course, a new book in March (YES YOU CAN! - hitting Amazon in March) and so much more!
As I look to find peace today while I finish up some projects and the pre-surgery to-do list, I had some thoughts to keep the excitement of NEW in mind. I thought I would share as they are a good reminder for anyone going through NEW… whatever that new might be in your life.
N - Navigate
No matter what, navigate through with a positive mindset and a clear vision. Whether it’s navigating my walker through the house, trying to pick up the item dropped on the floor, or working through the pain of physical therapy, it’s remembering YES I CAN! My clear vision is 100 days back to health - freely moving and gaining my life back. (That would also happen to correlate with my 59th birthday!)
E - Embrace
Embrace new opportunities, experiences, and perspectives. Open yourself up to change and growth, fostering a mindset of acceptance and enthusiasm, trusting and knowing all is working for your good. I am choosing to embrace the hard. While I know this is going to be challenging (the hip recovery), I will fully embrace the suck. Doing hard things is where YES I CAN was born - and will continue.
W - Welcome
Welcome each day with optimism and eagerness. Cultivate an environment that fosters a sense of curiosity and discovery while being ok with imperfect action. When we welcome the NEW with open arms, we allow the YES I CAN to flow.
So - surgery at 7am Monday morning. A couple months of PT & recovery that begins Tuesday. NEW is where I’m headed -but as I navigate the NEW in my life, I'm holding on to the tried and true YES I CAN mindset, mantra and motivation for success!
