Faith Cannot Co-Exist with Fear
During the YES 180 program this week, we took a deep dive into that dreaded F word... FEAR!
Fear can be paralyzing. Fear of failure, fear of not being enough, fear of not being liked, fear of missing out...! Fear can stop you in your forward movement and cause you to recoil.
Here was my suggestions to the participants.
Begin by asking yourself "what is the worst that can happen?"
When you look at your fear and face what is the worst that can happen, oftentimes it's not as bad as you might think. One of my past participants said to me "Cathy, my worst fear is that I will die." And for her and her life circumstances, that was a legitimate fear. By working through it and seeing what she was missing in her life, she stepped out of her fear and has created an amazing life - following some of her big time dreams. She is an amazing woman!Next, ask yourself "What is the best outcome?"
Often times we never even get to this place of realizing all the exciting potential opportunities that exist when we move through our fear. Use fear as your fuel - converting all that energy from the spiraling negative fear-based thinking into the fuel to power you to see and live your greatest life by showing up as the best version of you!Lastly - are you someone who believes in a Higher Power?
God, Source, Divine, Universe - whatever your higher power, by being in fear you are saying I don't truly believe. Fear and faith cannot co-exist - it's simply not possible. There is a favorite verse my grandmother passed on ..."God has not given us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but He has given us one of power and of love and of sound judgement and personal discipline (abilities that result in a calm, well-balance mind and self-control)."
Struggling to work through fear on your own? Sometimes we need a little support! Reach out - it’s time to stop living in fear. xo
