How to Wear More Color in the Fall

I am always looking for ways to add color to my clients wardrobes (along with my own) but I know it can be challenging at times.  This fall I thought it would be fun to check out the “official” Pantone Colors for 2021 and see if I could easily incorporate the color in a wardrobe.

If you’re not sure how to wear more color in the fall lets start with what the new Pantone colors are for the season. The ten new colors are Root Beer, Illuminating, Rhodonite, Leprechaun, Fire Whirl, Adobe, Spring Lake, Fuchsia Fedora, Pale Rosette, and Mykonos Blue. To make it easier for my clients to wear more color in the fall I came up with a few options that make it easier when shopping. All the sample tops are colors that can be mixed and matched with neutral classic pieces throughout the year.

When you wear more color in the fall those same pieces can be worn throughout the winter months and/or again in the spring. I picked bottom pieces (jeans, skirts, and slacks) that were in more neutral colors so it was easier to mix and match with what you may already have in your wardrobe.  Also, some of the new fall colors like leprechaun, spring lake and fuchsia fedora can be layered with other fall colors or neutrals, like the leather and moto jackets in root beer and olive branch.  The heavier coat in rhodonite can be paired with neutrals or other fall colors.

If you’re still not sure how to wear more color in the fall start with one color, like Mykonos Blue or Pale Rosette and see how you can mix and match those colors with what’s already in your closet (a pair of jeans, a navy skirt, even a pair of black slacks). If these colors are too bold for you or you’re still unsure try looking for small print that has one of these colors in it and then pair that piece with a classic color like gray, cream, or olive.

I hope these suggestions are helpful. If you would like to learn more or have questions please feel free to reach out via email, text, or book a complimentary style inspo session.
