Is It Luck?

Is it the luck of the Irish or luck of the draw or a lucky lady or...?

When we compare ourselves to others, sometimes we think "they are so lucky", "they have all the luck", or "luck was on their side".

Yes, sometimes we catch a break, but luck traced back is usually plain hard work, that goes on for years, before you actually see the results. Here are the 4 things "luck" requires...

1. Do one thing, everyday, moving in the forward direction.
Only one thing, you ask? But I have a list of 10. Maybe you do - but it's doing that ONE task that leads you in that direction of your goal, each and every day. Maybe it's one cold call a day - but whatever it is, it's one baby step towards your goal and ultimate success.

2. Stretch...to the point of being uncomfortable.
No one likes to be uncomfortable. But success is not usually found in a comfortable place.

3. Be accountable.
Whether it's a coach or a confidant, having someone you are accountable to is critical. It's easy to make excuses to our-self, putting it off, giving our-self the out - but when we have someone else we need to check-in with, we might think twice before we use the excuse.

4. Celebrate, even the littlest wins!
We need to remember to celebrate even our tiniest wins and victories. That "one thing" may have led to an order or an inquiry - celebrate it!
