Is it Time to Stop Waiting?

As summer is now behind us and fall has arrived, our focus begins to return to the work we put on hold so we could take time for reflection, rest, vacations, and families.

Now is the time for us to stop waiting.

Whether your goal is about your health, finances, or a creative project that’s calling your name, it’s time.

The reality though is that picking up the mantle again may be more of a challenge than we expect, especially if that pause has been with us for a while.

How can we move past the pause and begin again?

The easiest way is to remember this principle:  Every action leads to another action.

We can overwhelm ourselves by looking at all the actions we need to take when all we need to begin is one. One action.

That action will create a chain reaction and reveal choices we cannot even see until we step forward.

Amazing things happen when we begin to act.

We say yes to ourselves and living our best lives by taking that first step.

When thinking about where we’ve paused, these words from Pamela Slim, one of my mentors and author of Body of Work, can be helpful:

“You create a meaningful body of work when you decide the price of waiting is greater than the price of starting.”

As we reflect on the season ahead, it’s a perfect opportunity to examine where we have been waiting and where the price of that has grown too high.

Are you ready to make this the time? Your time to stop waiting?

What’s your first step?

Just say YES!
